The
Hopewell Hawks got past the Marietta Knights 11-7 at Bell Memorial Park in
Milton, Georgia on Sunday. Even in defeat, the Knights were able to take alot of
positives away from the game. Robby Bryan got the Knights off to a great start
throwing 7 strikes to only 3 balls in shutting down the Hawks 1-2-3 in the
bottom of the 1st. Jack Rinehimer singled and later took home on a passed ball
in the top of the 1st to give the Knights an early 1-0 lead. In the 2nd Garrett
Wells hit a deep line drive into the RCF gap for an RBI triple and the Knights
led 2-0. Hopewell put up 5 in the bottom of the second and never gave up the
lead. The Knights fought hard throughout and never gave up. Patrick
Reddick added a 2 RBI single in the 3rd and the Knights pulled to within a run
twice, but ultimately could not overtake the Hawks. Marietta will take on the
